If you’d like to explore the city, consider arriving a day early to discover its highlights, such as the vibrant medina, scenic beachfront, and stunning Art Deco architecture. Don’t miss the chance to visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Guided tours are available for entry, operating Saturday to Thursday at 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, and 15:00, and on Fridays at 09:00, 10:00, and 15:00. After breakfast, we’ll set off on our journey toward the mountains, first tracing the stunning Atlantic coastline before turning inland. As we climb into the majestic Rif Mountains, we’ll arrive in Chefchaouen, a captivating town renowned for its blue-washed buildings set against a backdrop of rugged peaks. After checking into your Riad for the night, you’ll have free time to stroll through the medina’s enchanting blue and white alleyways and browse its vibrant craft markets. With its photogenic streets and panoramic mountain vistas, Chefchaouen is a paradise for photographers. In the evening, enjoy a delicious traditional dinner on your hotel’s rooftop terrace, then relax under the mesmerizing canopy of Morocco’s starry night sky.
After breakfast, take some time to explore the enchanting blue-painted alleyways of Chefchaouen at your leisure. Later, we’ll depart for the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its remarkable preservation. Wander among the stunning mosaics, ancient pillars, and archways that tell the story of this historic site. From there, we’ll travel 30 km to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the former capital under Sultan Moulay Ismail. Here, we’ll visit iconic landmarks such as Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, the granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After soaking in the rich history of Meknes, we’ll continue to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional Riad.
After breakfast at the hotel, your accredited local guide will lead you on a fascinating walking tour through the Fes medina. Step back in time as you navigate the maze of narrow, winding alleyways, where donkeys and mules still transport goods. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere, savoring the scents of spices and perfumes from bustling market stalls. Visit the iconic leather tanneries, where artisans use centuries-old techniques to dye and treat leather. The day will conclude with a delicious dinner at one of the medina’s local restaurants, followed by a relaxing evening at your hotel.
Today, embark on a scenic drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains as you make your way to the edge of the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, check into your hotel near the dunes and enjoy a warm welcome with refreshing mint tea. In the late afternoon, set off on a camel trek into the heart of the dunes to witness a breathtaking desert sunset. Along the way, learn how to tie a traditional turban to protect yourself from the sun and add a touch of flair to your photos. As evening falls, savor a delicious traditional dinner before gathering around a campfire under the starry desert sky. Afterward, hop into a 4X4 vehicle for a thrilling ride back to your main transport. From Merzouga, head westward, passing through the lively towns of Rissani, Alnif, Tazarin, and Agdez. Marvel at the lush beauty of the Draa Valley and explore the historic Tamnougalt Kasbah. Pause for a relaxing lunch before continuing your journey to Ouarzazate, driving through the picturesque Ait Saouen mountains. End your day with a comfortable overnight stay at a hotel in Ouarzazate, where you can relax and reflect on the unforgettable experiences of the day.
After breakfast, we’ll start the day by discovering the iconic landmarks of Ouarzazate, a city celebrated for its rich history and role as a filming location for countless movies. Next, we’ll set off toward Marrakech, pausing to explore the awe-inspiring Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its magnificent kasbahs. We’ll also visit the remarkable Telouet Kasbah, nestled in the Atlas Mountains, before continuing our journey. By early evening, we’ll arrive in Marrakech, where you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation or the airport, marking the end of your extraordinary Moroccan adventure.
